Our Stance on Generative AI
At Story Signal, we believe that human creativity is the heart of storytelling. This platform is designed to be a sanctuary for human thought.
Story Signal explicitly prohibits the use of user content for the purpose of training Large Language Models (LLMs) or other generative AI systems in our Terms of Service. We have technical blocks in place (robots.txt, authenticated silos) to prevent scrapers from accessing your work.
Security Measures
We treat your unfinished data and world bibles as sensitive intellectual property.
- Encryption at Rest: Sensitive integrations (like Google Calendar tokens) are encrypted in our database using Fernet symmetric encryption.
- Workspace Isolation: Every database query is strictly scoped to your workspace. It is mathematically impossible for another user to access your data without your explicit permission.
- Granular Permissions: You control who sees what. Invite an editor to view a specific project, or a co-author to collaborate on a world, without exposing your private data.
Data Portability
We don't believe in lock-in. If you decide to leave Story Signal, you can export your characters, worldbuilding notes, and project data. It's your hard work; you should be able to take it with you.
